FAQ's & Pricing
What To Expect:
We use of a 100% disposable setup. This means that the instruments used for you have not and will not be used on anyone else and disposed of after each appointment. While your new brows and/or lips may look complete after this first session, they usually aren't. A second session, called a Perfecting Session, eight weeks after the initial session is used to add more density, refine the shape and set the final coloring.
Initial Session:
For brows, a combination of thread-shaping and mapping techniques will be used to design a natural and anatomically correct brow shape, with your preferences considered. Pigment color is then chosen to match the natural or desired brow color and skin tone is also taken into consideration. If you have a favorite brow pencil or powder, bring it with you! For lips, we will mark the outline of your natural lip contour. Please bring your favorite lip color and/or photos of your target color.
Perfecting Session:
During this session, I'll build additional depth, texture and dimension, add hair strokes and/or perfect the shape of your new brows. For lips, I'll build more color and density. *Some clients will need more than two sessions to achieve their desired brow, due to skin type, medical conditions or non-compliance to prescribed aftercare.

What To Expect Following the Procedure:
- Immediately following your procedure, the tattooed area will appear to be darker and bolder in color, more sharply defined or even have a more filled in appearance. This can last up to a week after the treatment while the initial healing process takes place. The treated area may feel a bit like sunburn afterwards but there should be minimal discomfort and minimal redness.
- During the initial healing period, there may be scabbing, flaking or peeling of the skin. If that happens, do not pick, and allow the scab or dry skin to come off on its own. This is very important! If scabs come off prematurely, the pigment will come out with it!
- The complete healing process takes about six to eight weeks, at which time the true color of the tattoo is evident. During this process, your tattoo will soften and lighten. Be patient, even if you think too much color has been lost, as your skin is still regenerating and naturally exfoliating.
How Do Results Vary?
Color retention and overall results vary for each individual, and there is no way to predict how your unique skin will heal. Factors such as sun exposure, skin type, aftercare, lifestyle and skin tone will affect how your brows heal.
- OILY SKIN - tends to 'push out' the ink quicker, and may need more frequent touch ups and heal extra powdery.
- DARKER SKIN - will have less contrast and may heal even more powdery or solid looking than lighter tones. The darker the skin tone, the less detail you will see.
- MATURE SKIN - is very fine, delicate and thin. It tends to heal more powdery and lines can heal on the thicker side. Results are very unpredictable.
Will I Still Have To Use Makeup?
Perhaps, depending on the look you're after. The final results are not guaranteed to replace makeup- you may still need to use a pencil, powder or lip color to create your own unique, desired look. The ultimate goal of permanent cosmetics is to achieve natural looking, full and balanced features.
Fresh Off the Needle vs. Healed
There are plenty of examples on the interwebs of microblading and machine work "fresh off the needle", as we call it. Hairstrokes appear crisp and exaggerated at first, and brows are dark for several days following each treatment. As the brows heal, the lines can appear lighter, slightly fuzzy, and softer looking. As the color settles into the skin, the warmth of the pigment will heal to a more natural tone. Same goes for lips...the final result will be a flush of color much like a watercolor.
How Often Will I Need a Color Boost/Touch Up?
Although microblading, powder brows and lip blushing are considered permanent, the pigments will fade over time, to varying degrees. A Color Boost or Touch Up is recommended annually to keep your brows and lips looking their best. Please understand that due to the nature of micropigmentation, a touch up beyond 24 months from the last procedure may be considered a new procedure and a consultation is required. If you have existing microblading or shading from another artist, you will be considered a new client and new client pricing applies.
I'm Getting Married/Going On Vacation - When Should I Have My Permanent Cosmetic Procedure?
I strongly advise you to book you first appointment at least four months in advance of weddings, vacations and special occasions. This allows adequate time for healing of your initial procedure, as well as your touch up six to eight weeks later.
Services & Pricing |
Each complete procedure consists of two 2-3 hour visits; the initial appointment, which includes a thorough consultation and custom design and the Perfecting Session, which must be completed between 8-10 weeks post the initial appointment. (Perfecting sessions exceeding the 12 week window will incur and additional charge.) Occasionally, a third session is needed for resistant skin. As trained artists, we have no control over how your unique body responds to permanent cosmetics, and therefore pricing is based on time spent creating your PMU. Permanent Cosmetics are an art, not a science.
*A $100 non-refundable booking fee is required to schedule your brow or lip procedure and will be credited to your balance due.
